Guide Vane Assembly : The vanes are operated by hand wheel through a screws & nut mechanism a guide ring & a system of links & levers.
Runner : Of gun metal designed for efficient operation accurately
machined & smoothly finished & securely keyed to the shaft.

Ball Bearing : With single row angular contact type provided in the casing to take up the axial thrust & a couple row self aligning radial type provided in the outer pedestal.
Draft Bend : Provided at the exit with a cylindrical transparent window fitted downstream of the runner for observation of flow & a conical draft tube of M.S. fabrication.

Brake Arrangement : Consists of a cast iron brake drum machined & polished, cooling water supply pipe from the turbine inlet, internal scoop, discharge pipe, spring balance rope brake & loading dead weights.

Centrifugal pump set suitable for the supply of water for the size of 4” x 4” to discharge 2000 LPM at a total head of 16 m. coupled to 15 HP, 1440/2880 RPM induction motor 3 phase 400/440 V. AC. supply

Flow measuring Unit : A 100 mm (4 “) Venturimeter/Orificmeter with double column differential manometer (Without Mercury) on a panel board to measure the difference of pressure.

a. FRANCIS TURBINE MODEL
The model is showing water inlet blades, guide ring, tall race etc.
Complete mounted on metal base with transparent perplex sheet at front.

b. PELTON TURBINE MODEL
An all metallic working model, comprising of a single jet horizontal shaft turbine. A 20 cm dia. disc is provided with double hemispherical cups mounted in housing with a transparent window on one side.

TURBULENT FLOW APPARATUS

DESCRIPTION
The apparatus consists of a circular pipe with pressure taps.
Steady flow is set up in the pipe with the help of a suitable pump.
Differential manometer mesures the pressure drop.
Pitot probe placed in the pipe measures the pressure and velocity.
The probe can be traversed over a diameter to determine velocity profiles.
A calibrated orificemeter fitted in the pipe gives the discharge and acts as a fitting to determine setting length.
