Following accessories provided with this Hydraulic Bench.

M.S. reservoir with gauge glass & scale fitting, drain valve of ½ ” size & a bend.

M.S. collecting as well as measuring tank with bypass arrangement & drain valve of 1” size. A gauge glass & scale fitting are fitted on measuring tank for discharge measurement. A swiveling hopper is provided to direct the discharge of water to the measuring tank or reservoir , as desired by the Operator.

1 m height double column differential manometer. (without Mercury)

1 HP high head monoblock pump for water circulation.

Strong iron stand to support the unit.

Entire unit is powder coated with good colour combination.

FALLING BALL VISCOMETER

Used to evaluate viscosity of oils in process control as rapid method

The apparatus consists of a hardened steel ball ¾” in diameter and a cup in the hollow steam (made of ebonite ) in which the thermometer is placed.
Complete contact of the ball with the cup prevented by three small projections on the surface of the cup which serve to give a constant thickness of the film. A few drops of oil are placed in the cup & the ball put in position & pressed in. when the oil fills the intervening hemispherical shell. The instrument is then field vertically by the knob & the stop watch started. Time taken by the ball to fall divided by the instrument constant gives the viscosity.

 

 

A) TO STUDY THE FLOW CURVES OF FLUID’S FOR NEWTONIAN FLUIDS

DESCRIPTION
The apparatus consists of a circular pipe with pressure taps. Steady flow is set up in the pipe with the help of a suitable pump. Differential manometer mesures the pressure drop. Pitot probe placed in the pipe measures the pressure and velocity. The probe can be traversed over a diameter to determine velocity profiles. A calibrated orificemeter fitted in the pipe gives the discharge and acts
as a fitting to determine setting length.

B. TO STUDY THE FLOW CURVES OF FLUID’S FOR NON NEWTONIAN FLUIDS
 

DESCRIPTION
The apparatus consists of a circular pipe with pressure taps. Steady flow is set up in the pipe with the help of a suitable pump.
Differential manometer mesures the pressure drop. Pitot probe placed in the pipe measures the pressure and velocity.
The probe can be traversed over a diameter to determine velocity profiles.
